The girl who didn't know anything at all

Once upon a time there was a girl who only wrote what she knew. But the more she wrote, the more she found out that she didn't know a thing.
She thought she might write about herself. But she didn't know herself at all. And she didn't know her friends either. She knew nothing of God nor the world she lived in.
The places she thought she knew, the people she loved were all strangers to her when she wrote about them.
Even though she thought she knew so much (the grades on her papers said she did) she realized that what she did know did not compare to what she would rather to have known. She would rather know things that really mattered than know things everyone else knew but did not actually matter.
And the more she wrote about what she thought might matter, the more she found that those did not make a difference in anything at all. And the more she wrote about what she thought mattered but didn't actually, the less truth she found in what may have really mattered in the first place.
